Artist Statement

I am a multi-disciplinary artist based in San Francisco. My practice is rooted in the progressive traditions of the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College, where making and thinking are deeply connected. I have a deep appreciation for materials and craft, which draws me to the texture and character of paper, fiber, wood, and found objects. I value the slow, thoughtful process of working by hand, but I think about weaving both materially and conceptually. There is an interlacing of ideas, histories, and forms. For me, craft is a way of paying attention and allowing meaning to emerge through the act of making.

While At Headlands

My time at the Headlands will be nothing less than a continuation of my practice within the vast opening where space, place, and time become vital collaborators. I will continue to push the boundaries of materiality while also documenting how an artist residency cultivates and fuels this curiosity. Without the constraints of work, financial obligations, and ambitions that might compromise one’s vision, I look forward to being truly free.
