Artist Statement

I am a multi-instrumentalist and composer. I explore a wide variety of musical mediums, the goal being to break through to something non-categorical and personal. I employ ideas informed by innovations and trends in both popular and experimental forms. For the past several years, I’ve been actively exploring the contrary relationships between tradition and technology, improvisation and composition, and the familiar and the abstract. My work employs sample-based technologies, analog and digital synthesis, and conventional and extended instrumental techniques.

While At Headlands

While at Headlands, I intend to continue to probe the collision of improvisation, contemporary audio music production, and the intersection of acoustic/analog and electronic/digital sounds. I look forward to discovering many new sonic possibilities in this distinctive and stimulating environment.
