Come together with fellow photographers to reflect on and grow your creative practice in this weekend intensive. South African photographer Pieter Hugo (AIR ’14), artist and SFAI faculty member Alice Shaw, and writer, curator, and critic Glen Helfand (AIR ‘03) lead participants through a series of individual and group exercises. Activities include artist presentations, critique sessions, literature-based prompts, and field time amidst the historic landscape of the Marin Headlands. Photographers at all levels are welcome to register; registrants should be prepared to present an existing body of work as part of participation.

10-11AM                    Introductory presentations by presenters
11-12:30PM               Participant presentations and critique

1:30-6:30PM            Hands-on project with presenters & guided field work (w/ breaks)
6:30-8PM                 Dinner, Mess Hall
8-9PM                       Continued presentation & discussion


9:30AM                   Breakfast, Mess Hall
10-12:30PM             Hands-on project with presenters, guided-hike or walkabout
12:30-1:30PM          Lunch, Mess Hall
1:30-4:30PM           Final presentations & closing conversation of weekend highlights
5-6PM                      Pack and departures for all participants

Additional Activities:

Early mornings, between scheduled activities, during lunch, and after hours are all great times to explore and pursue projects independently or continue conversation with other participants. Hike the Marin Headlands, take a dip at Rodeo Beach, relax on the porch, work in the studio, or simply stay on in the Mess Hall discussing the day with other participants.
