Will you join us for supper? Experience an evening at Headlands through the lens of Artists. Gather in our historic, artist-renovated Mess Hall and share a seasonal family-style meal prepared by Headlands’ Chef, Damon Little. Your seat at the table helps sustain our mission of supporting artists and creative exchange. Bring a friend, make more, and be a part of our growing community.

We’ll gather in the Mess Hall for drinks at 6PM, followed by supper at 6:30PM. At 7:30PM we’ll enjoy dessert and hot beverages outside in The Commons area, where poet, translator, and novelist Forrest Gander will read his Wall Space poem. Accompanied by other artists, Forrest will activate his commissioned piece under the evening sunset sky.

About Wall Space

Created by Rotterdam-based designer Chris Kabel, Wall Space is a sculptural installation that turns Headlands’ building façade into a canvas for commissioned texts. Inspired by historical movie theater marquees, a hidden armature on the side of the building holds metal mesh letters that respond to the changing light, visible to viewers as cast shadows. The letters are reconfigured into a new poem once a year.

Tickets are required for dinner. Maximum 4 per order. Interested in our Members Ticket price? Visit our Give page to join, or contact Kristina Graber to learn more at kgraber@headlands.org.

Dinner will take place in The Mess Hall, on the first floor of Building 944, and is accessible to people with mobility aids. Artist program may take place on upper floors accessible only by stairs.
