Headlands Center for the Arts

Seasonal Studio Visits are offered to Headlands supporters at the $1K Breakthrough Level and above and feature an intimate look at works-in-progress and insight into the creative process of Headlands’ Artists. In October, join us for an evening of studio visits with current Artists in Residence Aleksandra Walaszek, Sam Stevens, and Elliot Gordon Mercer. During their time at Headlands, collaborative duo Aleksandra Walaszek and Sam Stevens have been examining the history of non-native plants in the Marin Headlands and considering how environments are not only formed, but scripted. Elliot Gordon Mercer has been developing a new project rooted in family archives to explore personal reflections on queer genealogy, ancestral memory, and local histories. Hear about their evolving practices, and the stories behind their work.

Light bites and refreshments will be served.

Space is limited; please RSVP to Kristina Graber at kgraber@headlands.org. Attendees are welcome to bring a guest.
