Project Space: Scotte Snibbe
Scott Snibbe is a new media artist, author, and meditation teacher whose work explores perception, interdependence, and the nature of inner experience. His recent body of work, Hidden Geometries, reimagines the sacred geometric grids underlying Tibetan Buddhist thangka paintings through traditional mineral-pigment painting and generative digital art. The series grows from more than twenty-five years of Buddhist practice and his study with Tibetan and Nepalese thangka masters in the Bay Area and Nepal.
For his Project Space, Snibbe will expand Hidden Geometries into an immersive contemplative environment of paintings, real-time generative digital works, large-scale LED displays, and projections. He plans to record self-guided meditations to accompany select works, each designed to induce a specific meditative experience such as concentration, compassion, or interconnectedness. During select weekend open houses, Snibbe will also lead live guided meditations for visitors.
Project Space is on the third floor of Building 944 and is currently accessible only by stairs.
