Artist Statement

I am an artist and writer whose work includes performance, video, exhibitions, scholarship, and criticism. My projects act out historic social difficulties, imagining the ways they situate presence. Since 2000, I’ve composed and performed music for plays, concerts, video scores, public events, and spectacles with my collaborators in the group My Barbarian. Since 2012, with collaborators in the group Courtesy the Artists, I’ve been re-arranging and performing influential musical texts.
