Artist Statement
I’m an artist interested in the relationship between humanity and the natural world. My perspective is shaped by a nuanced understanding of scientific observation, identity, and connection. After graduating with a BS in Environmental Science, I worked as a biologist for almost a decade. Collecting data through imagery, I weaves together formative narratives that seek to question our ecological understanding.
While at Headlands
While at Headlands, I plan to use the studio as a space to bring together multiple strands of my practice. I will focus on sequencing recent projects and developing handmade books as a way of experimenting with form and narrative. Beyond the studio, I am interested in engaging with the surrounding landscape, observing its physical structures and ecological rhythms. My current work explores the interconnectedness of ecosystems and considers its relationship to individuality. This fellowship offers the time and environment to both reflect and make, situating my practice between material experimentation and ecological inquiry.
