Gardner Planetary Health Award

The Gardner Planetary Health Award is a fully sponsored artist residency and a cash prize for an artist whose practice demonstrates an ongoing interest in exploring natural systems and planetary health through the visual arts.

The award includes a cash prize of $10,000 and a residency of four to eight weeks, with dedicated use of a private studio, chef-prepared meals, and comfortable housing. The Gardner Planetary Health Awardee will become part of the dynamic community of artists participating in Headlands’ programs, sharing in peer-to-peer creative exchange while developing their individual artistic practices.

The application period for the 2020 program is April 1 through June 7, 2019. Residency period is March–November 2020.

All applicants to Headlands Artist in Residence Programs meeting the Gardner Planetary Health Award eligibility requirements will be considered for the award.
