With a transdisciplinary practice spanning drawing, installation, and socially-engaged work, Rene described her practice as, at its heart, about belonging—to self, place, community, culture, and time—and rooted in her own immigrant roots. Over the past year she’s been engaged with a project, #AskThePandemic, inspired by Lennon Walls such as those that sprang up during pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong. The project solicits questions and sentiments from audience members to be written on post-its and installed in physical space and on social media.
