Andy Vogt (AIR ’11) works in sculpture, installation, and time-based media. His site-specific sculptural work focuses on the structural shorthand of our built environment and utilizes reclaimed building materials scavenged from the dumpster-rich San Francisco city streets. His sculptures and installations merge these architectural raw materials with natural phenomena and geologic forms blending them in a mix of two dimensional drawing techniques and three dimensional construction methods. Vogt has exhibited nationally and locally, with solo shows at Southern Exposure, Aurobora Press, Four Barrel, and Ampersand International Arts. Group exhibitions include Headlands, the San Francisco State University Art Gallery, Swarm Gallery, and Adobe Books Backroom Gallery. Vogt holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and lives and works in San Francisco.
