ABSENTEE BIDDING
Collectors who are unable to attend the event may bid remotely on any artwork in our live and silent auctions. If you’d like to place an absentee bid, please contact us at development@headlands.org by 4PM PST on auction night Wednesday, June 3rd.
BIDDING AT THE EVENT
Upon check-in, all prospective bidders must pre-register with a credit card to obtain a catalog with a pre-printed bid number that will serve as your bidding paddle. If applicable, any bids you placed online will be synched with your bids at the event. Your bid in any form will constitute a legal contract. No artwork will be sold for less then the minimum bid amount outlined in the catalog or reserve price established by the donor. The buyer submitting the highest bid will be the winning bid. Each item is auctioned as-is, without warranty. All sales are final.
CHECK OUT
Upon close of the event, payment must be processed and received on all artworks. If you are in attendance, we ask that any purchased artwork be taken home on auction night. In the event that you are not in attendance or are otherwise unable to take your artwork home on auction night, we will automatically charge the credit card on file and call you within 48 hours to confirm purchase and arrange pickup. Any artwork storage and/or delivery arrangements are the sole risk and responsibility of the buyer. Headlands accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, or check. Sales tax will be applied to all in-state purchases.
A NOTE TO COLLECTORS
Headlands Center for the Arts’ Benefit Art Auction is a mission-driven event with proceeds directly supporting Headlands’ mission, programs, and artists. Headlands respectfully requests that collectors do not resell purchased auction artwork. If a collector wishes to resell auction artwork, Headlands asks that collectors offer first right of refusal to the artist and his/her gallery. This understanding and cooperation will contribute to the sustainability of Headlands Center for the Arts and the Bay Area arts ecosystem.
