Most good parties end up in the kitchen. At Headlands it’s not much different. Shared meals in our Ann Hamilton-renovated Mess Hall provide a casual, convivial environment to get to know artists and visitors, share stories and exchange ideas. After all, it is often outside of the studio or office that the best ideas strike.
Artists in our programs have access to five chef-prepared meals each week (and plenty of leftovers.) To share the bounty with our visitors and supporters, we hold regular public meals in association with events, and seasonal dinners for our members.
Since inception our food program has been committed to serving locally sourced, lovingly prepared, organic food. Meals are typically served family style, alongside artisan bread baked in our wood-burning brick oven by Eduardo Morell.
