Headlands Center for the Arts

Art looks, feels, and sounds different at Headlands. From artist-guided walks to dinners, exhibitions, conversations, and performances, Public Events are designed to be experiential, to connect visitors to artists and the creative process, and to create opportunities for genuine engagement.

Public Events take place about twice a month and take on a variety of formats, topics, and perspectives. Our calendar is a good place to start for an overview of what’s happening and when.

Open Houses take place three times each year and are a great way to meet the artists in our programs, see what they are working on in their studios, and explore our site and the Marin Headlands more generally.

Each summer we hold our legendary Benefit Art Auction, a chance to support our work through ticket purchase, sponsorship, and generous bidding on artwork.

Our Workshops are designed to provide participants the opportunity to take part in on-site, thematic intensives that use the Marin Headlands as a starting point for creative exploration.

We are always cooking up new ways to engage, experiment, delight, and provoke. Come and see, then come back for more.
