Headlands is pleased to present recent work by recipients of the Tournesol Award, a year long, live-out residency awarded to an emerging painter in the San Francisco Bay Area. Designed to support an artist's work and professional development in the critical first years following school, the award provides the chosen artist with a $10,000 stipend, studio, and a supportive community at Headlands Center for the Arts for one year.

This exhibition celebrates five successful years of the Tournesol program and its role in helping these remarkable artists take the first major steps toward establishing their professional careers. As the program celebrates five successful years, Headlands is pleased to announce the selection of Paul Wackers as the 2008-2009 Tournesol awardee.
