Carrier “bucket” stool // New Factory – Yvonne Mouser and Adam Reineck

Names: Adam Reineck and Yvonne Mouser

Company/studio: New Factory

12 words or less about your practice/process: We focus on reinterpreting everyday objects in order to engage people in new behaviors and interactions. Our goal is to rethink the traditional approaches to producing things in ways that promote the makers, and connect customers to the source of what they buy and use.

For Headlands, we created: A family of stools that can carry supplies and inspiration with you during your time in the Headlands. The stools are made of Alder, a lightweight hardwood native to the Headlands. Each has a bucket handle to aid in carrying, and rubber feet to accept a variety of terrains.

Sit: The basic stool is simply a portable seat.

Stash: This stool features a small compartment for carrying tools and treasures.

Strap: Two straps under the seat can carry small objects or a blanket.

This limited run of stools is carefully handcrafted in our small shop in San Francisco.

We were inspired by:  The utilitarian aspects of the military history, the landscape that invites hikes down to the shoreline, and the environment’s potential for creative discoveries.

Our vision for how someone will use/enjoy this: We wanted to create a useful and enjoyable piece to complement the multiple ways people can experience the Headlands. By packing the Carrier stool with tools, supplies, snacks or inspiration you leave prepared to explore at ease.
