Misako Inaoka works with mixed media in sculpture and site-specific installation. Her work has been shown at such institutions as Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, de Young Museum, de Saisset Museum, and the San Jose ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts), as well as at galleries in New York, Japan, England, China and Italy. She is a recipient of a National Endowment of the Arts award for a MacDowell Colony residency and S & R Foundation’s Washington Award. Born in Kyoto, Japan, Inaoka went on to receive her BFA in printmaking from Rhode School of Design and her MFA from Mills College. She is currently based in Ventura, CA.
