Kristina Quinones’ (AFF ’11) paintings challenge the boundary between control and uncertainty. She mixes her color and pours her paint, unsure of the outcome. As the layers of color accumulate, the opportunity to manipulate the space between control and uncertainty diminishes. Quinones has exhibited in group shows throughout the United States. She received her bachelor’s degree in Printmaking from the University of Connecticut in 2001. In 2005 she received her Masters of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. She lives and works in San Francisco.
