Gail Dawson’s paintings explore the intersections of abstraction and representation, chaos and order, both in her technique and subject matter. She has shown internationally, including several solo shows in Texas and California. Her work was included in the 2006 and 2011 Pacific Coast Editions of New American Paintings and she has received grants from the Dedalus Foundation and the Dallas Museum of Art. Dawson received her MFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000. She currently lives and works in San Francisco, where she is on the faculty in the Art Department at San Francisco State University.
