Debra Bloomfield’s photographs employ metaphor to explore the relationship between the internal and external world. Selected exhibitions and museum collections include the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; George Eastman House, Rochester, NY; Berkeley Art Museum; the Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, and, forthcoming, the Phoenix Art Museum. Recipient of the Phelan Award for the Trotsky series, Bloomfield’s monographs include Four Corners (2004), Still (2008), and Wilderness (2014), which focuses on the politics of land-use. She received both her B.A. and M.A. from San Francisco State University.
