Andy Vogt (AIR ’11) works in sculpture, installation and time-based media. His site-specific, sculptural work focuses on the structural shorthand of our built environment and utilizes reclaimed building materials scavenged from the dumpster-rich San Francisco city streets. His sculptures and installations merge these architectural raw materials with natural phenomena and geologic forms blending them in a mix of two dimensional drawing techniques and three dimensional construction methods. Vogt holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and has exhibited nationally and locally. He has had solo shows at Southern Exposure, Aurobora Press, Four Barrel and Ampersand International Arts. Group exhibitions include Headlands Center for the Arts, San Francisco State University Art Gallery, Swarm Gallery and Adobe Books Backroom Gallery. Vogt lives and works in San Francisco, California.
