Sarah Smith infuses her drawings and installations with materials like sawdust, oxidized metals, and burned wood to explore ideas of impermanence. Smith has exhibited locally at Southern Exposure, Ampersand International Arts, 111 Minna, Needles & Pens, Mimi Barr, Triple Base and Kala Art Institute, as well as nationally at Garfield Artworks and Wall-to-Wall Studio Gallery in Pittsburgh, PA, Samson Projects in Boston, MA, and Stay Gold Gallery in  Brooklyn, NY. She was awarded the Kala Board Prize from Kala Art Institute, and has a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University.
