Jean Shin is best known for her labor-intensive process of transforming large collections of discarded objects into visually alluring, conceptually rich sculptural works. Exhibitions include The Museum of Modern Art, New York, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Frederieke Taylor Gallery, New York and Galerie Eric Dupont, Paris. Shin attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Maine, and holds a BFA in Painting and an MS in Theory, Criticism and History of Art, Design & Architecture from Pratt Institute, New York.
