In her drawings, intaglio and woodblocks, Nicola López creates maps of personally-experienced, human-built landscapes. These constructions appear to lend a sense of wonder and vertigo when juxtaposed with today’s use of saturated signs, communication and technology. López has exhibited at Caren Golden Fine Arts, NY; Irvine Contemporary Art, Washington DC; and P.S. 1 Contemporary Center, Long Island City, NY. Her work has been featured in such publications as Art in America (June/July 2005), ARTNews (Dec. 2005), and Art Forum (October 2005). López completed her MFA at Columbia University.
