Jae Rhim Lee’s visual work proposes, via tools and systems customized for her body, alternative relationships between the mind/body/self and the built and natural environment. She currently directs the MIT FEMA Trailer Project, a research and design project which examines the history of FEMA Trailers deployed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and will transform a used, donated FEMA Trailer at MIT into an alternative vehicle which can critically address disasters and emergencies. She is a Visiting Lecturer in the Visual Arts Program in the Department of Architecture at MIT, where she completed her MA.
