Amanda Hughen’s work consists of layers of geometric shapes that mutate into exploding swarms referencing architecture, cellular biology, topography, and astronomy. Recent exhibitions include Ampersand International Arts, San Francisco, Berkeley Art Museum, Galerie Immanence, Paris, Johansson Projects, Oakland, Electric Works, San Francisco, San Francisco Arts Commission Art on Market Street Project, Triton Museum of Art, Santa Clara, CA, Townsend Center for the Humanities, Berkeley, Marcia Wood Gallery, Atlanta, and White Columns, New York. She received an MFA from University of California, Berkeley, where she was awarded a full Block Grant Fellowship and an Eisner Prize.
