David Gurman’s recent endeavor, Reflector Project: Tigris-Potomac IKONOS View, uses digital field recordings to investigate and understand distant landscapes and cultures—in particular, areas that are politically and fiscally connected but geographically separate. He received the Toby Devan Lewis MFA Fellowship in 2007, and his recent exhibitions include Patricia Sweetow Gallery, San Francisco, Swarm Gallery, Oakland, and Oliver Gallery, Oakland. Gurman holds a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Utah and an MFA in Media Arts from the California College of the Arts.
