Chris Ballantyne’s interests lie in relationships between nature, culture, people and their surroundings, and suburban landscapes, expressed in his subtly disturbing drawings, paintings and installations. He has recently had solo exhibitions at Hosfelt Gallery, San Francisco; Park Life, San Francisco; Peres Projects, Los Angeles; California State University, Chico, CA; Peres Projects, Berlin, Germany; and the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, CA. He holds an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BA in Painting from the University of South Florida, Tampa.
