Genine Lentine is a writer and interdisciplinary artist whose background as a poet and a linguistics scholar has deeply informed her approach to writing. During her time in the Project Space, Lentine plans to engage visitors with her piece Listening Booth, in which the simple act of listening to the concerns, ideas and questions of visitors mimics both the stage of observation in writing and the potential connection between a poem and its reader. This project is exemplary of Lentine’s interactive and research-oriented practice, approaching writing not only as a solitary activity but also as a kind of field study. Lentine’s poetry has been published in a number of literary journals, and she holds an MFA in poetry from New York University and an MS in Theoretical Linguistics from Georgetown University.
